Arabic Network / Old
The Arabic Network Program is a subject specific program specialized in developing the skills of Arabic language teachers in teaching reading, writing, listening and speaking, for grades (4-10). The courses in this program were developed according to the latest international strategies in teaching reading and writing skills in cooperation with the University of Colombia, regional, and local programs. It includes nine training courses (First Language Acquisition Theories & Approaches, Standards-based Teaching and Assessment, Oral Skills, Intensive Reading, Narrative Reading, Personal Narrative Writing, Informational Books Writing, and Essay Writing).
- Adapting teaching practices based on reflection of the learning and language acquisition theories.
- Building the participants’ capacity in standards-based planning and assessment.
- Building the participants’ capacity as readers in different genres.
- Applying how to teach reading strategies of Arabic Language curriculum
- Building the participants capacity as writers in the different genres (Personal Narrative, Informational Books Writing, and Essay writing).
- Applying the different teaching writing strategies.
- Building the participants capacity in teaching oral skills (listening and speaking) according to the latest international strategies.
- Applying teaching oral skills during training and with their students.
- Activating the professional learning communities to improves their teaching practices.
